A data room is a secure online repository of the financial, legal, operational, customer, and team documents an investor or acquirer needs for due diligence. It is organized into folders and shared with controlled access (typically view-only, often with watermarking, download restrictions, and audit logs of who viewed what when), used during fundraising rounds and especially during M&A processes.
