Questions

I'm building a team for raising private equity for a feature film of about $250,000. Where's a good place to find people with this type of experience?

This is the second feature film I have wrote and will direct, and plan to only move forewords in raising equity once all of the pre-production, team building, casting, and legal ground work is in place. So, with that said, where is a good place to start looking for this types of talented people? Also, I am not interested in crowd funding campaigns. www.collectivecp.com

HourlyNerd would be a great place to find someone who can aid in fundraising.

Agree with getting all the work done first: pre-production, team building, casting and legal ground. Now for all this are you investing you own money?
Raising private equity (from angels/VC) for films its not an easy thing to do. The people with the most knowledge on this are in L.A (Los Angeles).

PS: Why not crowdfunding?

Why are you trying to raise private equity? This isn't something they would normally invest in. Sounds like you should look to raise capital from angels.

My experience raising capital for films has been very different from my venture experience. All my institutional investor colleagues have said raising capital for films is out of the question. However non institutional investors look for trophy investments in films, these people mostly run in the angel groups. They just want to be a part of something fun.

Also what is your hesitation with a crowdfunding campaign? Do you have a following already, if so how many users? Why would I want to invest into you?
