I’m a copyeditor if you’re still looking for one. Your best bet, whether you contact me or not, is to find a freelance writer/editor. They will have the best availability and will have a fast turnaround time. If you look for in-house editing—that is, you try to pitch a book to a publisher first—you may very well never find someone to edit your work. Remember, the author of Harry Potter was turned down by a dozen publishers before someone finally accepted her book(s). However, just using Craigslist to find an editor can be sketchy. It’s best to use someone with a professional background or public presence. For example, I use Clarity and Writers Work as places I send potential clients so they can get a feel for my work and also be assured that I am who and what I claim to be rather than an anonymous email address on Craigslist. If you’d like to talk more with me, feel free to reach out. I’d be willing to do a free consult to discuss your options.
